1. Establish the Timing Supply Item
Start with the actual deliverable rather than a warehouse category such as crystal. Retain the manufacturer code, original pack description and any supported category. A loose component and a board containing a timing circuit are different supply items. If the owner is releasing an assembly, keep its identifier and included parts separate from the internal crystal description.
Epson's product catalogue separates crystal units, crystal oscillators and RTC modules. Its technical notes discuss crystal units in oscillator-related circuit contexts and identify oscillator product fields such as supply voltage and output. These sources support asking which category the stock belongs to, rather than treating every frequency-marked item as one interchangeable product.
Use the exact applicable product information to resolve the category. Terminal count, enclosure appearance and a frequency marking can help locate evidence, but should not complete the identification alone. Retain an incomplete code as incomplete. If the pack label and an old assembly record disagree, show both rather than assigning the whole lot to one category.
2. Keep Resonator Parameters Separate from Oscillator Fields
For an identified crystal unit, preserve the frequency specification and the manufacturer's applicable resonator conditions or characteristic references. Ask for the exact product document where those details are absent. Do not fill empty inventory fields with assumed conditions or convert an old circuit operating frequency into a confirmed specification for unidentified loose material.
For an identified oscillator, retain the documented supply option and output description alongside its complete ordering code and frequency. Epson's technical-note product tables present output and supply as distinct fields. A frequency-only description omits that context. Keep the fields attached to the actual variant rather than transferring the table entries of a related product.
Preserve units and the role of each frequency entry. A catalogue range can describe a product family's options while a configured or ordered frequency describes a particular item. Do not quote a family range as if the offered units can produce every value in it. Unresolved category, variant or configuration information remains part of the enquiry.
3. Preserve Frequency Configuration and Condition Evidence
Where the identified product has a configurable frequency option, retain the available ordering or configuration record and the quantities it covers. Epson's technical notes describe programmable oscillator products, but that description does not determine the setting of surplus units. Keep a stock description, an owner's configuration declaration and a measurement report distinguishable.
Do not change configuration merely to support a sale enquiry. The seller needs to describe the offered item and the evidence available for it. If the recorded setting cannot be matched to the pack or units, disclose the gap. A claim that a product family supports configuration is insufficient to describe the actual stock as ready for a particular clock requirement.
Record unused packing, opened material or previous mounting separately from frequency identity. Retain any existing report's units, date, method and conditions instead of calling a factory marking a recent frequency measurement. Visible package condition cannot establish output quality, jitter, stability or suitability for another system. Unknown history should remain visible to the reviewer.
4. Submit Identified Timing Groups Without Clock Performance Claims
Separate groups by supported category, complete identifier and documented frequency or configuration. Keep unknown-category items distinct from identified units and oscillators. Include the actual quantity and sale unit; a reel of components should not become an unexplained count of complete clock boards. The recipient can then see what each identified group actually contains.
Confirm which material the owner has authorised for release and what relevant records may be shared. Use the stock-list guide for wider quantity, location and packing information. The timing-specific contribution is retaining the supply layer and its category-dependent fields, so a generic crystal description does not obscure an oscillator's documented supply or output.
For an ICULTRA timing-stock enquiry, send the complete identifiers, supported categories and available frequency or configuration references. Explain missing documentation and any report's actual scope. The recipient must confirm which groups it will assess, any verification needs and the resulting commercial terms. Classification and a readable frequency label do not establish clock performance, customer-system approval or a purchase commitment.
