1. Retain the actual protection-device identifier
Start with the full TVS product code rather than an inventory description such as diode or suppressor. Retain ordering suffixes and the original pack reading where available. Keep a shortened device marking in its own field until the applicable product documentation supports its relationship to a complete identifier. A voltage-like fragment in a warehouse entry should not stand in for the whole protection-device identity.
Identify the supply item and quantity unit. Loose TVS components, a board containing protection devices and a complete module are different deliverables. If the offer concerns a board, preserve its assembly identity separately from the internal TVS description. The component's category should not silently turn an assembly quantity into a count of individually released loose devices.
Make directionality a separate field attached to the exact code. If the available record names only a family, retain that level of evidence and mark the actual variant unresolved. Keep uncertain suffix readings visible. A common enclosure or abbreviated breakdown description can help locate documentation, but it should not decide whether a seller's unknown variant is unidirectional or bidirectional.
2. Use family-specific directional descriptions
Vishay's July 2025 release describes the T15BxxA series as unidirectional and the T15BxxCA series as bidirectional. This historical example supports retaining different directional descriptions for the named series. It does not identify material in a current seller's possession, establish present supply or turn the release's availability language into a current lead-time statement.
Use the appropriate exact-product reference before assigning that description to an offered line. The named series illustrate a family-specific relationship; they do not create a universal suffix rule for other TVS families or manufacturers. Preserve the source context and the full identifier so another reviewer can see which documentation actually supports the directionality entry.
If an original pack identifies one variant but a repacked container carries only a shortened family name, retain both records and state which material they cover. Ask the owner to reconcile the identities instead of selecting whichever suffix seems familiar. A directionality field is useful only when its connection to the released units remains visible, especially where multiple products were combined during storage.
3. Separate directionality from protection evidence
A supported unidirectional or bidirectional description says which product variant the record identifies. It does not supply the actual terminal map or a connection instruction for unknown hardware. Keep any required orientation or terminal review tied to the exact readable device document. This guide does not interpret a schematic, decode package marks into terminal numbers or approve installation of the offered devices.
Likewise, directionality does not establish the clamping result, surge survival or condition of surplus units. Preserve any existing report with its covered identifiers, date, stated method and results. A product release may describe protection features, but those descriptions are distinct from a report concerning the actual lot. Do not advertise newly assessed performance because a directionality field has been completed.
Retain unused, opened or removed-material descriptions according to available history. Record visible body or terminal issues where observed and leave unknown handling explicit. Neither a familiar package nor a readable suffix authenticates every unit in a mixed container. The scope of the identification record and the scope of any physical assessment should remain distinguishable throughout the enquiry.
4. Submit directionality-identified groups
Group the offered quantities by exact supported code and directionality, retaining pack and condition references. Keep unknown suffixes or conflicting identities outside a confirmed variant total. If records cover only a subset, make that subset clear rather than applying one supported series description to all similar-looking TVS material. A recipient can then request clarification for the unresolved groups. Where a shortened code omits the directional variant, keep its quantity outside both confirmed directional totals until the actual reference is reconciled.
Use the general excess-stock list for quantity, location, ownership and release authority. The related dual-diode guide resolves internal common-terminal arrangements; this article resolves TVS directionality. Those are different classification questions. Retain the relevant product description without translating a TVS directional label into a dual-diode arrangement or assuming that either description establishes an approved protection application.
For an ICULTRA TVS enquiry, share the full codes, the exact references supporting directionality and the gaps affecting identified quantities. Ask which groups can be assessed and what further documentation is required. The historical release supplies an identification example, not a stock offer. Accepted lines, inspection arrangements and commercial terms must be confirmed for the actual material; no protection result or purchase commitment follows from the category alone.
