1. Identify the actual NAND supply item
A flash capacity entry does not establish the architecture of the offered storage product. Retain the exact device reference before using raw or managed as its description. Those terms concern responsibility for management functions, rather than the amount of storage listed in a warehouse record. Preserve capacity as its own field while identifying the source that supports the management category.
The existing memory-stock guide distinguishes supply items such as loose devices and assembled products. This review asks a narrower question once the item is identified: which management responsibilities does the applicable documentation place inside the product, and which remain outside it? A package or general NAND label does not answer that question on its own. Keep unresolved architecture visible rather than completing it from physical form.
Where a seller has only an abbreviated marking or former assembly reference, preserve that observation and any supported full identity separately. A controller description in a board record may concern another component on the assembly. It should not automatically become a feature of the NAND device itself. The recipient needs a traceable product reference before the external-versus-embedded distinction can be assigned to the offered item.
2. Retain the controller-management boundary
Micron's NAND selection explanation describes raw NAND as requiring an external host controller for management functions. It describes managed NAND using a controller embedded within the package, naming wear levelling, bad-block management and ECC among the responsibilities. These qualitative descriptions give the inventory record a useful architectural distinction without supplying a host design or a statement about any unidentified surplus component.
The same explanation includes an intermediate on-die-ECC NAND category. Micron describes ECC as integrated while wear levelling and bad-block management remain with the host controller. That category should not be shortened to fully managed merely because one management function is internal. Preserve the split described by the applicable product context instead of making the architecture a forced choice between two incomplete labels.
For an identified line, retain which category its own documentation supports and any expressly stated responsibility split. Keep an on-die-ECC descriptor attached to its NAND context; it is not a substitute for the separate ECC discussion used for DRAM modules. This guide describes no management algorithm, cell-bit comparison, interface command or cost advantage. It preserves the boundary that another reviewer must understand before considering the device.
3. Separate architecture from current data state
A management category does not report what data a storage-bearing device currently contains. A built-in controller is an architectural feature, rather than evidence of erasure, firmware state or permission to transfer stored information. Keep known previous use and the owner's available data-state declarations separate. Missing information should not be converted into a blank or erased status because the product has a managed-memory description.
Nor does the category establish the present state of bad blocks, wear or other media-health information. The source's assignment of a management task identifies where that responsibility sits. It does not give a current result for the offered units. If an existing report accompanies the material, retain its actual device identity, capture context and coverage instead of treating the general architecture explanation as a measurement.
Keep any proposed integration question outside the classification result. A device with a particular management boundary should not be offered as an approved replacement for another category merely because capacity is similar. This enquiry supplies no host wiring, command recipe or compatibility assessment. Its value is making the management description explicit before another party decides which exact product and evidence it needs.
4. Offer management-identified NAND groups
Prepare groups whose documented architecture is raw, managed or an explicitly described intermediate category, retaining unresolved lines separately. Do not force a hybrid responsibility split into a simpler label for presentation. When a broad family description covers several products, show which exact references support the selected category. A container total should not silently become a uniform claim about where all of its management functions reside.
If an earlier inventory note says managed while its linked document describes only integrated ECC, retain both and identify the point requiring correction. That is a specific architectural question, not a request to test or modify the components. The original wording remains useful evidence of how the discrepancy arose, while the supported product description can be reviewed without losing that context.
For an ICULTRA NAND enquiry, provide full available identifiers, their management descriptions and separately disclosed data or condition evidence. Use the general memory list for quantities and the owner-authorised release record. This submission does not perform erasure, establish health or promise acceptance. Any further assessment, data-handling arrangement and purchase terms require separate agreement for the particular material.

Micron’s bounded raw, managed and on-die-ECC NAND descriptions support the responsibility comparison. No cell-performance ranking, command sequence, erasure result, media-health finding or integration approval is supplied.
